Our latest updates
To better support you, we’re making building applications with the Be Informed platform easier. Our updates, released three times a year, aim to simplify learning and roll out.
What's new in the 2026 spring release
The 2026 spring release introduces a range of significant usability improvements across the Workbench, Documentation Portal, and Studios. With this release, applying legal analysis becomes faster, easier, and more agile supporting organizations in turning complex regulations into clear, actionable outcomes.
The release date is April 8, 2026.
Workbench updates
- Easier import of models and bundles
- Easier to view changes between different versions of a source document
- Prevent duplicate terms
The Workbench now provides improved import capabilities at both project and docket level:
- At the project level, users can import a model JSON file containing structured frame definitions created in external editors, extracted from previously published bundles, or generated by automated services such as LLM-based analysis tools.
- At the docket level, users can now import existing bundles from the Bundle Register, making it easier to reuse analysis created by value chain partners or in other environments and supporting smoother collaboration across organizations.
The Workbench now extends document version support to the docket level, building on the improvements introduced earlier in the source register. Users can clearly see both the Used and Latest versions of each document, compare them side by side with changes highlighted, and switch to the latest version when needed.
The Workbench now validates terms at the tenant level, checking across all dockets to determine whether a term with the same name already exists. During term creation, users are proactively notified of potential duplicates, helping teams maintain consistent and reusable terminology across analyses.
Be Informed platform updates
- Dropped Dutch as tool language for BMS and AMS while maintaining Dutch as a modeling language for better alignment with the Plaza documentation when modeling in Dutch
- Added tool features to extract embedded models in the workspace to bundles based models
- Security protection when searching on Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Update to Java 25 JRE and newest libraries
From this release onward, the English‑language BMS and AMS Studios provide full support for a Dutch modeling language, enabling teams to work naturally in Dutch without relying on separate localized Studio versions. Metamodel elements can now be displayed directly in Dutch, allowing domain experts and business users to model and interpret content using familiar terminology.
The export and creation functionality has been aligned to support this capability end‑to‑end. BMS export wizards now include a language setting that allows Dutch to be selected as the primary export language, ensuring generated AMS artifacts (like metamodels) reflect Dutch labels. In AMS, the application behavior creation wizard similarly supports Dutch as the primary language when working with Dutch‑based metamodels exported from BMS.
As part of this unification, the separate Dutch‑language BMS and AMS Studios are phased out, simplifying maintenance and aligning both tools with the English Plaza documentation while retaining full Dutch modeling‑language support.
When migrating to a bundle based repository, it is from now on possible to use quick fix functionality. This can be used on validation errors that are reported on not available local project (metamodel, model or content) references, that have an equivalent element available in one of the (metamodel or business design) bundles.
Search parameters in end‑user filters of lists and lookup services were previously sent as query parameters, making potentially sensitive information visible in browser history and server logs. To improve this, the configuration now has a setting to include parameters in the request body. This keeps them out of URLs and prevents Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from being stored locally or logged on servers, strengthening compliance with security and privacy standards.
Starting with this release, the Be Informed server now runs on Java 25. This update keeps the platform secure, current, and able to benefit from the latest Java improvements. As more open‑source Java projects adopt Java 25 as their minimum version, Be Informed has updated its required runtime to stay compatible. Customers must therefore run their Be Informed runtime environment and applications on Java 25 going forward.
