Automating trade compliance across global cargo operations

In collaboration with Canon and Be Informed, flydubai implemented the International Trade and Transport Compliance Solution (ITTS) to modernize export control and sanctions compliance across its cargo operations.

By automating shipment screening and integrating compliance workflows across operational systems, flydubai achieved a 70% reduction in time spent on compliance while improving operational efficiency, regulatory oversight, and cargo security.

The growing complexity of international cargo compliance

Complex international regulations

flydubai needed to comply with evolving export control regulations and sanctions imposed by global regulatory bodies such as OFAC, the UN Security Council, and the European Union.

Time-consuming manual compliance checks

Manual verification and validation of cargo shipments created operational inefficiencies, delays, and increased administrative workload for compliance teams.

Risks of errors and operational disruption

Manual screening processes increased the risk of compliance errors, false positives, shipment delays, and potential regulatory exposure.

Transforming cargo compliance with intelligent automation

ITTS combines regulatory rules, goods classification data, and integrated operational systems to automate compliance screening and validation across cargo transactions. The platform helps reduce manual effort, minimize false positives, and improve operational control through intelligent automation, real-time validation, and streamlined compliance workflows.

Automated compliance screening

ITTS automatically receives Air Waybills from booking and cargo management systems and screens every transaction against export control regulations and sanctions requirements.

Intelligent case management and validation

Flagged transactions are automatically assigned to compliance officers, who can review results, validate findings, attach supporting evidence, and manage approvals through a centralized portal.

Reduced manual effort and fewer false positives

Advanced algorithms help identify strategic goods, automate screening workflows, minimize false positives, and significantly reduce manual compliance efforts.

Scalable and integrated compliance operations

The platform integrates seamlessly with operational systems while providing capabilities for user management, rule design, process automation, and ongoing regulatory adaptation.

Seamless integration capabilities with 150+ applications, including cargo management and booking systems.
