Be Informed has implemented Apache Camel, a versatile open-source integration framework, to exchange, route and transform data with external systems using various protocols (secure web services, secure messaging, secure file transfer, etc.). Apache Camel provides the Be Informed Platform with extensive integration capabilities.

The core of any Be Informed solution is a shared, integrated vocabulary of business concepts describing the products, services, processes, activities, business rules and policies of the organization. Be Informed uses semantic models to capture these business concepts in an accurate, concise and machine executable way, yet comprehensible way for business users. Heterogeneous data sources are mapped to the organization’s ontology, allowing Be Informed to reason over internal and external heterogeneous data sources.
