Execution of constraint-based processes. In the Be Informed Platform you model the constraints and rules of a process, and not the actual order of steps. The process flow is therefore only implicitly modeled and all possible routes will not violate any of the given constraints. Process rules captured in the Be Informed Platform describe under what circumstances an activity must be performed (post conditions) and the constraints under which it may be performed (pre conditions).
Processes are goal-oriented & context-driven. Based on the captured rules and the specific situation at hand, the platform's Case Management inference engine determines the most efficient way to achieve the process's goal, while ensuring compliancy with the captured constraints. When the available information changes, the inferencer automatically determines the new route to achieve the goal.
Highly flexible case handling. The platform enables users to build up a case file and share the available information. Based on the available information and the process rules, the platform ensures compliancy with the constraints, without prescribing a detailed process flow. This constraints-based approach allows organizations to handle diversity, exceptions and ad hoc process flow in a flexible and controlled manner.
Taking decisions in processes. Processes apply decision rules that are captured separately from the process rules. Decision rules are separated from process rules. Rules in general are no longer embedded in software code. This approach facilitates adaptability and clarity to a great extent.
Cooperating beyond the boundaries of your organization. Business processes often involve different organizations working together. Dynamic user interfaces based on highly customizable authorization rules enable customers and partners to perform their task in the process effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, integration allows parts of the process to be outsourced.
High level of straight through processing. Executable business rules and the goal-oriented approach of the Be Informed Platform facilitate STP (Straight Through Processing) to a great extent. Even the most complex and lengthy processes can be automated, which enables case workers to focus on exceptional, more complex and challenging cases.
Visibility and traceability. The Be Informed Platform supports case workers in their daily tasks by automatically logging all events and modifications in the case. This audit trail includes the information used, the decisions made and when and by whom. Highly customizable dashboards, reports and graphs provide real time management information automatically.
